From 28 to 31 October, the Evoplay team joined the Asia Pacific Lottery Association (APLA) Regional Conference. The event was held in Manila. It brought together experts and operators from different countries. This year, APLA focused on safeguarding lottery revenues – funds used for public purposes – when markets open up to new competition for player spending. Evoplay was represented by Frank Cecchini, Head of Lottery, who joined the discussions on protecting lottery revenues and adapting to a rapidly changing market:
Not all of this competition is legal: in some countries, a grey area of legislation allows operators to use lottery brands to sell bets without returning the profits to the lottery. Obviously, lotteries need to cooperate with regulators to protect their position and create modern products that can compete in the iGaming market. Evoplay can help by offering content that engages players while not increasing the risk of gambling addiction.
The conference was a great opportunity to demonstrate how Evoplay content can strengthen lottery products while keeping players engaged safely. We continue strengthening our presence in the lottery space, supporting the industry with secure solutions.
